We have introduced some Subaru Outback diecast models at different scales such as 1/43 and 1/18 scale in previous posts, and today we will introduce another classical Subaru car in its lineup, Subaru Legacy. When being asked the relationship between Subaru Legacy and Subaru Outback, can you give a brief introduction? If not, follow me please.
The first generation Subaru Legacy was manufactured by Japanese automobile manufacturer Subaru in 1989, and it became Subaru’s flagship car at that time. In addition the Legacy nameplate, this car was also known as Subaru Liberty in Australia and Subaru B4 in Israel.
In 1996, the second generation Subaru Legacy with heightened suspension was appeared in the market with new namaplate Legacy Outback, which can be considered as the 1st generation Subaru Outback. In 2008, the Outback line has its own model known as Subaru Outback, and Subaru Legacy Outback nameplate was discontinued.
In diecast car models market, there is only one 1/18 scale Subaru Outback diecast model in wine red and champagne, collectors have no more options. However, if you are interested in 1/18 scale Subaru Legacy diecast model, there are two different generations Legacy car models.
5th generation 2010 Subaru Legacy diecast model
In 2009, the 5th generation Subaru Legacy was released with different body styles such as 4-door sedan, also named as Legacy B4, 5-door crossover SUV, also known as Subaru Outback, and 5-door station wagon. In diecast models market, we can only get the sedan edition.

6th generation 2016 Subaru Legacy diecast model
In 2014, the 6th generation Subaru Legacy made its debut at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, and in 2015, the 6th generation Subaru Legacy was produced for the 2015 model year. In this generation, only two body styles including 4-door sedan and crossover SUV are available, Subaru Legacy Touring wagon was discontinued worldwide.
2016 Subaru Legacy Diecast Model In Silver
As for 1/18 scale 6th generation Subaru Legacy diecast model, only one model in silver is available for collectors or car owners, look at pictures below, both its exterior and interior are great replica of real Subaru Legacy.
