In the past few years, European countries used to have trams as their main vehicle. Nowadays, there are still a few trams in the street. There are several reasons for keeping the trams.

European have published the policy for control emission, which makes trams become a better choice for protecting environment. To compare the old trams, and the brand new trams save high cost of battery. Meanwhile ,there is no need to build a charging station.
Fourthly, the brand new European trams have a good performance of accelerating and decelerating, a good performance of climbing. No matter what kind of electric machine we use, it still has good tractive performance. There is no need to use a gearbox at all. This new trams can transfer the motor to an electric generator, expend the vehicle kinetic energy. In this way it is useful to save energy and work in the street smoothly.
