Believe it or not, there was school bus for students transportation between school and homes before the automobile was invented, but at that time, it was carriage, so that its name is school cars or school trucks.
In 1837, the first school bus was manufactured by WayneWorks company, and inside 25 students could sit. This primal school bus was popular in villages because the distance between school and homes in village was too far, which was not convenient for students going to school.
After automobile was invented, automotive chassis was installed under this carriage in 1914, also by WayneWorks, then the school bus was driven by motor power, however, the inside structure of school bus was still too much simple, only a few wooden benches were inside and students sat on benches.
